I’m Valerie. I’m a dietitian by day and DIY enthusiast by evening and weekend. I also share that evening and weekend time with my side job as a Premier Designs jewelry stylist. I have a rescue dog named Oakley who likes to help with projects and can be a bit of a photobomber, so you’re sure to see him on the blog.

I recently bought a new-to-me home in Newberry, FL and have been slowly working on updating it and making it mine. I have lots of dreams for this space, but not a large budget, so I’m tackling it one DIY project at a time. It’s been a bit of an uphill journey creating, refreshing, and renovating things on my own, but it’s doable with a little perseverance and a lot of coffee!

Most projects involve a lot of Googling research time and I also phone a family member for advice way too often. Luckily my dad is pretty handy and my mom is pretty creative, so they manage to help, even from halfway across the country. I also sometimes call on my brother for technical advice with the website.
In this blog, I’ll document my journey as I make my house my own. Hopefully you can learn from my successes and failures!
